Visit Yorkshire this summer – with just a few days to go until all schools have finished for the holidays, there’s so much to see and do:
Steam train journeys are a great way to see the county and get a feel for the heritage of the area. Combine with a walk or fill a whole day riding the rails. The image above is from the North York Moors railway as part of a walk from Pickering, but there are steam journeys available at Embsay, Keighley & Worth Valley Railways and on selected journeys along the Settle Carlisle Railway.

My wife and I stayed at the South Lodge Guest House on a midweek break. Steve and Tony, who run the guest house, are very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. They went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The attention to detail was second to none with 10/10 for all areas. I couldn’t find any fault at all. We will be going back, next time and will be taking our family, what a fantastic B&B. The breakfast was amazing and the establishment was as clean as a whistle. Nothing was too much trouble. Can’t wait to visit again.
