Love this restaurant and bar in Wetherby as it usually has such a good atmosphere, lovely friendly staff, with good menu choice and food. Great newish sun deck outside upstairs which is a great addition for sunny days when you don’t want to be stuck inside. It’s cosy in winter as usually there’s a fire. Always try and visit when shopping in Wetherby. BUT the service the last twice we’ve been has been a tad slow. Not that we want to rush our visit at all. It’s the only thing for us that lets it down but the staff are so nice. Think another pair of hands is needed but know how costs are soaring to run a business. Otherwise I’d have given 5 stars.
We visited for breakfast and were left thoroughly disappointed. Despite being one of only a couple of tables, we waited an hour for our three poached egg dishes to arrive. When they did, two of the three dishes were incorrect, served with bacon instead of the requested spinach option. I appreciate mistakes do happen, however I did not appreciate the comment from the manager that “I heard Benedict”. The one correct dish had raw eggs (as pictured). The manager offered to remake the vegetarian dishes, but when they arrived, the eggs were raw on these too (see photos). The dishes were also missing elements included on the menu on both dishes (e.g. capers, red onion and garlic butter), and served on muffins rather than crumpets. Although the manager removed the incorrect items from the bill, we were still somehow charged £21 for three coffees and a side of halloumi. With such slow service, incorrect orders, food not matching the menu and poorly cooked, we won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend it.
We had a lovely lunch for seven, plus a baby and a dog. There was a bit of a mixup with our reservation, but staff were apologetic and sorted everything out with no fuss - we felt very welcome. Burgers, steak sandwiches and Chicken skewers all very good, and other meals around us looked great too! Would thoroughly recommend a visit, thank you!
Excellent veggie breakfast. Very generous amount of food. Brown toast not an option but the sourdough was good. Service a little slow to say it wasn't busy but friendly service and would recommend for brunch in Wetherby.
We were a party of 5 and every one of us remarked on the quality of our food. 4 had turkey and one had the blue cheese and chestnut feast. All our meals were delicious. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and were friendly. All of us will come again.
