A proper pub experience and great food. They admitted it was busier than expected so there was a delay in getting served dinner, but the food more than made up for it. The staff were lovely and apologised. We’ll definitely be visiting again soon!
An absolute gem of a place. Lovely hosts, exquisite pub food. Well prepared and served in a timely manner. We couldn’t manage a dessert. The Timothy Taylor Landlord Ales were superb. Sampled the succulent Steak & Ale pie, greens and gravy. Fish and Chips mushy peas, curry sauce (Two meals for £30) Shall definitely return with family members when they are visiting the area. Hope you make an honest success of the place. Credit to Thorp Arch village and the local area. Much appreciated.
Fabulous food , atmosphere fantastic warm and cosy and staff very attentive. Didn't feel rushed to eat our food. As for the food couldn't pick a single fault with anything. Arrived In a timely fashion hot and the quality is impeccable. Well worth the 80 mile round trip will definitely be coming back for more
The team at the Pax kindly welcomed a large group of us before the race meet at york . The Pax started our day off before we got transportation to York races !! They went above and beyond with the service, the drinks and food were fantastic for pre racing . Would highly recommended for food and drink when in the area or passing !!
a truly superb example of a fantastic local village pub! great drink & food with brilliant friendly service, every aspect as spot on. plenty of drink options, from local crafted beers to premium lagers & huge numbers of gins, wines & spirits. the food is amazing, fresh ingredients cooked to perfection & beautifully presented ... it has a warm, friendly feel, where you are immediately welcomes. its a brilliant village pub that delivers on every level , well done to all the team
