Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant who is keen to develop their career and progress towards a Client Manager position. The Role As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients, providing high-quality accounting, tax and advisory services. Responsibilities will include: Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders. Producing management accounts and financial reports. Preparing and reviewing VAT returns. Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax compliance. Supporting clients with cloud accounting software including Xero. Assisting with client onboarding and cloud accounting system implementations. Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact. Responding to client queries and providing day-to-day support. Supporting Directors and senior team members with advisory assignments and projects. As the role develops, you will take on increasing responsibility for managing your own portfolio of clients and becoming a trusted adviser to business owners. About You To be considered, you should have: A minimum of 3 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice. Experience preparing statutory accounts for limited companies. Experience producing management accounts and VAT returns. Strong working knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently. The following would be advantageous: ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or actively studying. Xero certification. Experience using IRIS or similar accountancy practice software. Most importantly, you will enjoy working closely with clients and helping businesses achieve their goals.
