Don't bother. It's exceptionally difficult to get an appointment unless you can turn at 8 which is impractical when you work in Leeds starting at the same time. I've had an ill infant they have refused to offer emergency appointments to resulting in walk on centre and A&E visits. To top it off, a serious gynecological condition was refused to be investigated because "I should get on with it like my granny would have". If you like poor service and sexist behaviour this is the surgery for you. Deeply disappointed.
Many people seem upset with this surgery, and I can’t understand why. Getting an appointment by phone starting at 8 AM can be a nightmare, even if you’re third in the queue. However, they do call you if there’s a cancellation, so I always request this option if I’m unlucky enough not to secure an appointment when I call. From what I gather, most doctors' surgeries are facing similar issues. Nonetheless, I consistently find that the doctors and staff are very friendly and helpful. I’ve noticed that some patients want multiple appointments for different ailments instead of discussing everything during the initial visit. This is based on what I’ve overheard in the waiting room, and I wonder if it contributes to the lack of available appointments. I believe some of you have been a bit unfair with your one-star reviews and comments. These hardworking individuals are doing their best to help people, and judging by the rudeness and self-importance I've witnessed in patients speaking to the staff, they are doing a fantastic job. If anyone spoke to me the way some people speak to the staff, I dare say you would no longer require further medical attention. It’s worth taking a long, hard look at yourself: were you rude to the staff, and is that why they responded in kind? Experience tells me this is often the case. Many countries around the world lack this level of service, and in some places, you can only access it if you can afford to pay. So, take a moment to reflect on that before criticizing hardworking people who are trying to help. How would you feel if the individuals you devoted your career to supporting put you down every day? It’s time to stop being keyboard warriors and judge yourself before casting judgment on others. Personally, I think they do a fantastic job with the resources they have, and I will continue to support them, as they have supported me.
Unable to get an appointment for my 18months old son 3 days in a row was told to travel to an urgent walking centre the other side of Leeds. Today I was caller number 2 in the queue at 8:00am. On the occasion the person taking the call sounded generally sincere about the situation and I appreciate whole heartedly they are up against it. However, this surgery should be investigated for the neglect of it’s infant patients.
Where to start... In recent years this surgery has gone from excellent to beyond poor. To be quite honest, in my opinion and experience, it doesn't even deserve one star. It's demise started after Dr's Knight and Nicholson left. It has never had regular GP's since, just a rake of locums. Step up the merger with Bramham surgery! Oh no, wait a minute, no give them a few months, nope, even worse service (or lack of) now. The practice manager thinks she is far superior to everyone and the receptionists, when you can get through, (it often takes 40 plus minutes and then you get cut off) thinks she is a triage nurse and tells you to call again tomorrow! The best one so far, is tearfully begging for an appointment in front of a waiting room full of people because you couldn't get through on the phone, to be offered the first one available 3 weeks on Tuesday! We are not an emergency service is what she told me, you'll have to ring the phone (that nobody answers) in the morning and somebody may be able to get you an appointment. 4 Years we have put up with this terrible "service" and even worse in the last year. No point emailing complaints to the practice as the afore mentioned practice manager has no interest in dealing with it. I have now lodged my complaint with the ICB and CQC and moved myself and my family to the other practice in Wetherby.
Medication stopped with no consultation for serious long term pain management. This is after an assurance by a GP. Very dissatisfied with this practice. You can’t complain because the PHSO only deal with issues involving deaths. Typical of the modern NHS.
