As a landlord myself, whilst renting a property from Thomlinsons of Wetherby I felt insulted when after several very positive inspections as a tenant I was then deducted £300 from my deposit. Whilst a tenant I redecorated the apartment with the same magnolia and white as the standard of the finish was not great. I also replaced the bedroom blinds as they were moldy and left a new rug in the lounge and 2 stick vacuums. The carpets were not great so I had the apartment professionally cleaned. My wife cleaned religiously whilst resident so to have £300 deducted for leaving the property unclean was an insult and was purely a means to gain monies. Thomlinsons of Wetherby are an insult to the lettings industry and one of the main reason why I manage my various properties myself. If you appreciate customer service and a good lettings business AVOID using Thomlinsons of Wetherby.

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE – AVOID AT ALL COSTS Our experience with Thomlinson has been nothing short of a nightmare. After purchasing a plot, the process dragged on for months due to their choice of completely incompetent solicitors. In an effort to move things along, we ended up handling part of their legal obligations ourselves—including matters involving adjoining neighbours. This was all done with a written promise of full reimbursement. It’s now been 16 months and we’ve received nothing but lies, empty promises, and blatant ignorance. Despite our efforts, Thomlinson continues to operate with shocking unprofessionalism and shady, underhanded practices. They have repeatedly failed to uphold even the most basic standards of business conduct. We primarily dealt with Richard Waring who was handling the sale for Raymond Thomlinson. Richard, while clearly involved in the sale, constantly plays ignorant, refuses to take accountability, and endlessly blames Raymonds trust for the delay. It’s been a never-ending cycle of broken promises, misdirection, and deceit. Do not trust these people. Do not do business with them. You’ve been warned. FOLLOW UP Firstly, this is not a social media platform—it is a Google Review, where I, as a customer, have the right to share my personal experience. My feedback, along with that of others, is based on the service we received and is not influenced by unrelated excuses or deflections. Thomlinson clearly stated that if we covered the legal costs, we would be reimbursed. This promise was made both to me and to the neighbouring property. Over the past 16 months since completion, I have followed up numerous times, with no resolution. What I’ve shared here is a factual account of my dealings with Thomlinson—nothing has been exaggerated or misrepresented. As a business professional myself, operating multiple companies, I am subject to the same scrutiny and public feedback. The difference is, I ensure my financial obligations to customers are honoured without resorting to excuses. I understand that the neighbouring property has now been paid, which indicates that my review has had some effect. I now expect my reimbursement within the remaining 13 days, as previously promised. Should that not occur, I am fully prepared to proceed with legal action. Thank you.

We needed a last minute rental due to our house purchase falling through at the 11th hour. Thomlinsons were fantastic, within the day we had viewed the property and agreed terms and we had the keys in under a week. The team made a stressful time, so much easier - their support was invaluable. On moving in there were a couple of minor things that needed sorting - door lock, tap that sort of thing. The inhouse team took care of these straightaway - really impressive maintenance team. Thanks to Jane, Jane and Anna for their help and support - been so smooth and painless - thank you

I have been a tenant with Thomlinsons for over 5 years now & I honestly couldn’t wish for more in an agent. All the staff are friendly, welcoming & professional. Jane B, my point of contact is fabulous. I always hear back from her within the day & she is knowledgeable, thoughtful & caring. Nothing is ever too much for her & the rest of the team. I have a lot of medical issues & all my needs have been looked after by my landlady & all the staff at the Wetherby branch, thank you. I look forward to being their tenant for the next 5 years…hopefully more. Thanks to all the staff for the support & kindness they have shown to me & my 2 children in our time with them.

By far the worst estate agents around. So unprofessional. Please avoid at all costs! From start to finish a sham! Emails etc were sent with constant errors. Rude staff mainly Jane who’s in the office. Jane Bruce was lovely but as for the rest can’t write an email or have any form of decorum when dealing with paying customers! Would give a zero if I could! Also latest listing for the property is from years ago surely someone should monitor this Update. I am unsure what the untruths are? You sent an email addressing someone else? You sent continual emails with spelling errors. Jane was vile and you agreed when you spoke to me over the telephone.The photos currently advertising the property are years old as they also have the next door, door as I different colour that they told me they hadn’t had for almost 3 years if not longer! The garden also doesn’t have a gravel patch at the rear. The lounge and master bedroom aren’t those colours either. I’d hate for a future tenant to be mislead!
