The rating is for the ice cream. Lovely ice cream, brownie with black sherbert. I agree with other people's reviews about the service. The gentleman is grumpy, like very grumpy, and they have the table at the entrance like in covid days, so there is no way to see what they offer.
Extremely disappointing customer service. I was handed a cone that crumbled the moment I touched it — clearly poor quality. When I politely asked for a replacement, the staff immediately became defensive and rude. One said, “I’m not giving you another ice cream,” and another blamed me, saying I put my finger through it. Then came the sarcasm: “So you're saying all my other cones are perfect, except that one?” Rather than acknowledging the issue, they chose to argue and shift blame. It’s unacceptable to treat paying customers this way. If you're unhappy in your job, don't take it out on the people keeping the business running. Won’t be returning. Waste of money and a very poor attitude.
One ice cream flavour was okay but the other one was terrible, went back to ask for a second pot to put the other flavour into so someone else could have it (although after trying it they also didn’t like it and we threw it away) and was asked to pay 30p for a new second tub and spoon despite paying over 5 pounds for two scoops of ice cream 1 minute earlier. Woman was very rude serving and said there was a minimum charge spend for my 30p empty tub and wooden spoon which tried to pay for on card. She then laughed in my face when I gave her 50p to pay for this instead of exact change. Really very rude and ice cream inedible was that bad!
Extremely disappointing experience. The ice cream was subpar, but what truly ruined the visit was the staff! Very rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in basic manners. Their sarcastic, unprofessional attitude spoiled what should have been a pleasant day out. Would strongly recommend avoiding this place.
The ice-cream was lovely. Price wise, that's just what you're going to get at the beach, so you kind of have to be at peace with spending more than usual. Large servings and lots of choices!
