Our restaurant and take-away is situated right on the harbour side on Pier Road in Whitby with stunning views over the harbour, up to Whitby Abbey and out to sea.
Hear the seagulls and watch the boats coming in as you tuck into your delicious fish and chips. (Have a look at our webcam to see the views!) Our fish and chips have been our family's passion for over 50 years, they are fried in the traditional way using excellent quality beef dripping and our own special recipe batter.
At Quayside we are proud to only serve sustainable seafood, our MSC accreditation is something we are particularly proud of. We also offer gluten free fish and chips without pre-ordering. Quayside is a licensed 80 seater restaurant with air conditioning, family friendly with children's menus, high chairs, baby chairs and baby changing facilities. There are also full facilities for the disabled, plus braille and larger print menus with disabled street parking directly outside.

Whilst visit the area we chose to eat at Quayside after looking at previous reviews. We was looking forwards to eating upstairs as previous reviews recommended this. Sadly upstairs was closed! However this didn’t ruin the meal. We ordered fish and chips with mushy peas and tartar sauce and adding an extra side of scampi. Very welcoming by all staff food was cooked to order nice and fresh/hot portion size is fair. Chips are tasty good old taste. And the SCAMPI was totally amazing full of taste. The batter is just how batter should be. Pricey but it’s worth it.
Amazing friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Staff are lovely and always happy to help. The inside is set out perfectly so you dont feel your sat on the next person's knee lol. Very clean and the takeaway side is just as good. Food is absolutely beautiful with great portion size for the price n as always with the perfect whitby touch.
The place is nice and the staff are friendly but it is extremely overpriced. About a quarter of the amount of chips and a little under cooked for the same price and quality as other ,We had been here a few years ago and it was very good so thought we would return ,we wont be rushing back over 100 pounds 4 fish and chips and 4 drinks
Amazing fish n chips! Batter was crispy, fish tasty, chips too! The girls who served us were lovely! The decor was beautiful, the restaurant and toilets very clean!!
I ate here on the recommendation of a friend in York. The fish was good, the chips I would say were underdone to my Canadian palate. But the service was abysmal. After receiving my food that waiter never checked on me again; another one did ask if I wanted anything, whereupon I asked for ketchup, but she ended up forgetting and I didn't get any for at least 5 minutes. And I had to get up myself to settle the bill. Sorry, but I can't recommend this place for a positive dining experience.
