We really enjoyed our two night stay at The Marine Hotel. The room was well decorated and extremely clean with a fantastic view of the harbour and sea beyond. The location is very central and only a few minutes walk from most of the main attractions and shops. The staff were very helpful and provided us with parking permits to cover the three days that we were there. We stayed during the last week of November and although it was a bit chilly outside the room was extremely warm, in fact, we did turn the heating down a bit, it was that warm. We booked the breakfast with the hotel and that was provided at the Moon and Sixpence, a couple of doors down, the food there was excellent.

Can’t comment on the rooms. We had a lovely meal, the service was good and the seafood platter was delicious and fresh. The lobster Thermidor was amazing, the sauce wasn’t too rich and there was so much meat. The crab linguine and the trout was a bit bland, but plenty of crab meat and pasta was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend for lunch.

We stopped here for an evening meal. Can't fault the food (delicious) or service. Great cocktails and liqueur coffees. Will definitely visit again next time in Whitby.

Had an amazing stay here the Friday just gone! The room was very nicely decorated, comfortable and spacious with amazing views. I spent ages just watching the sea, so relaxing. Oh, and most importantly, it was clean! Everything is quite literally on your door step here. I really enjoyed having a separate side door we were given a key for. Just wondered in and out as we pleased. Staff were great, now hassle checking in our out. They let us leave our bags behind after we checked out which was very. It's also the first time my girlfriend has openly complimented a room that I've booked, which has to count for something. Already looking for our next trip back to this Hotel. Would absolutely recommend it.

Started off really nice with the wine and the starters. But everything fell apart when the main meals came- the lasagne was 3 sheets of cold pasta with 20 whole tomatoes. The chicken supreme was far from supreme and lacked all elements of the dish (also came with 20 tomatoes).
