Trenchers

The fish absolutely Very Good. I must say. The Salt And Pepper Squid is SMASHING. I would take 3 orders of squid over the fish it’s that good. And I love fish more than you know. The smoked fish excellent. Mixed plate of seafood very good.

We had a family meal for 6. The cod was very good, the chips were average. The Yorkshire tea was good, it would be nice if this came with bigger mugs and tea pots. The waitresses were very attentive and friendly. We had to que outside, however overall we thought it was worth the wait.

We love Trenchers. We always visit when we visit Whitby. Christine served us and she was so lovely and accomodating. We were so happy, because within the last year our Daughters is now gluten free and we always feel she misses out. However trenchers can cook all fish gluten free, which was amazing. They even have a gluten free vinegar. We all had something different and all five of us loved our food.

Brilliant fish and chips! Shared them with my wife, as the portions are generous. The mushy peas were also excellent! Really impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant, the staff were really polite! Price is irrelevant when recieving such high quality food and service!

Really good fish and chips! They cook their chips in beef dripping, but also have a vegetarian side cooked in vegetable oil. I was a little disappointed in the size of the cod. I ordered the large at £21.95 and it was no different in size, even smaller than some of the mediums I could see on others plates. The mushy peas were excellent, the curry sauce looked bland but was very tasty!
