Couldn't charge. Waited for CCS to become free. Had to help the person using the type 2 charger as they couldn't get the cable out and we had to call Customer Services. Then the whole unit packed up and wouldn't charge anything. Third time I've tried to use the only fast charger in the area and not managed it once
Like almost all Podpoint chargers, this one worked faultlessly. Shopping at Aldi and a sandwich completed a most satisfactory visit. 6•2kw. There's a 50kw at Lidl on the other side of town but this whole area is not well served for chargers. That said, I'd no wait and no other EV joined me, so perhaps the powers that be believe this is sufficient.
De pod points work, that is the only positive aspect. The real problem is that they are useless to top up your car battery because they are v e r y s l o w ! I arrived early afternoon with 15% charge and it took until 11:30 pm to reach the 80% level. The 7 kW chargers are not up to date. The minimum at places like this should be 50 kW CCS. And I do not mind paying.
2 chargers, both in Aldi's carpark. Both were working fine on our visit. Plugged in, went shopping and after about 20mins, had an extra 15miles in battery.
Downloaded podpoint app. Confirmed location and name of the connector in the app. Charged overnight up to 100 percent. Please make sure you confirm it by app or website within 15 mins, otherwise freecharge will stop in 5mins. I think full charge is free.
