The Little Fox Bookshop

The bookshop is magical. When we visited there was a nod to Narnia in the form of a wardrobe with fur-like coats and a lamppost. The range of books seem to have been selected with care and imagination. My granddaughter is 9 and thoroughly enjoyed the book she chose. She was so immersed she cried at an emotional point and was thrilled by other points. Good books are magical and there is much to enchant here. Yes you could buy some books cheaper but we would never have found the title we chose without the work of the owner. Thanks

This coffee shop/children's book shop is a little gem(Fox) of a shop. The thoughtfulness and attention to detail of this cafe is the best we have seen. Something only independent coffee shop owners can achieve. The book theme decor is superb and creates a magical atmosphere for children and adults alike. Oh and the coffee, cakes are great too. During our few visits the Bay coffee consistently tasted good. The staff were great too and welcomed us from minute one. The chairs are comfortable and dont worry there is a table and chair area just for the children if you just want a quiet coffee on your own. Toilets are clean with nappy changing space. Prices are average for Whitby. This cafe is located on the Abbey side just by the bridge. Wheelchair access is a squeeze but should be okay. Dog friendly too. Well done to everyone involved. 👍

Gorgeous little book shop. The kind soul behind the counter was so welcoming and helpful. My son wanted a cookbook especially for children to read. Not only did she find me the most beautiful book but had so much knowledge of the author and their other works. Had a nice little chat and also left with an adapted book of Dracula for my 8-year-old to read. Wish we lived local so I could visit more often.

Not just a book shop but an experience. This shop has an amazing atmosphere, fuelling the imagination and creating a sense of wonder - just like a good book should. Great variety, lovely staff and beautiful interior. Definitely worth a visit.
