Think of Grace Brothers , the BBC comedy series and you get some idea of the kind of department store this is . It is a step back into a past that is sadly missing these days . You can get anything in here from a candy bar to to a child's bed or carpet for your lounge . Did I mention that the service is good old fashioned . Polite , prompt and informed . The storefront is always a treat at Christmas , with animated manaquins and usually based on a classic fairy or Christmas takesomething you rarely see these days .

Great store that sells everything (except fresh groceries) at very reasonable prices with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Great place, highly recommended. The stores in Scarborough and Bridlington are almost (but not quite) as good. Love it! Now revisited the Bridlington branch after many years. much larger than I remember, larger than the other 2 stores. Again, friendly helpful staff and great choice and prices !!EXCEPT!! We visited the third floor cafe, the food was OK, but the staff were abrupt and somewhat unpleasant! Very surprising and even more disappointing 😒.

A great shop for all your needs for the home, garden, car and D. I. Y projects. Home ware, clothes, slippers and shoes at very reasonable prices I visit every time I come to Whitby which is perhaps twice a year. Background music is usually on and the staff are friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit if you are in town, you can enter the shop either by the front near the railway station or from the back on the pedestrian walkway. Plenty of bargains to be had.
