We had a really good lunch here. The staff were polite, pleasant, and helpful and the food was great - we can specifically recommend the BLT, the posh fish finger sandwich, and the kids fish nuggets and chips (great portion sizes)! This combined with the novelty of eating on the deck of a replica of the HMS Endeavour and the spectacular views made for an amazing experience all around!

Our day tour stopped in Whitby for two and a half hours for lunch. After visiting the west pier and the Abbey, and fish and chips at the trenchers, we had some time to kill here around this pier. A popular and busy spot in the city, nice views of the harbor and lobster traps and fishing people and performers.

This review is for our visit today, the boat is great, interesting facts and artifacts in the small museum part. The food however lets this place down a lot! The menus say what things are, no pictures or descriptions, basically like no other menu you've seen. The price for 2 fish, chips and mushy peas along with a pint or soft/hot drink was £29:95 for 2, very reasonable so we went there. The tables were tacky and dirty, not a good start. Then the food came out and what a disappointment. The fish was fresh and flaky but the batter was soaked in fat and grease which dropped onto the chips they had placed underneath it, which needed blotting! The peas were Luke warm at best. The chips are in the picture and you can count them there were that few of them! Really poor quality and size of meal I'd suggest going to a proper restaurant and give this place a wide berth until they sort this out.

Really lovely ship and the museum was free. That was it's saving grace. The food was absolutely awful! The service was very poor, staff didn't want to know, only one person taking orders for the whole ship, no other staff apparently was able to. Took nearly half an hour for them to come round to collect our order after trying to grab their attention multiple times. Finally managed to order and was not offered a receipt. When we moved below deck after getting attacked by wasps, the staff member just said okay, had to grab the original staff member who had our order to let them know we were moving and asked if they could inform the kitchens. Even when we went below deck, another 40 minute wait for food. 2 adult meals, a kids meal and 2 drinks came to £48, and it was the worst thing I've ever tasted. Never had a parmo sooo dry! Chicken felt like it was cutting your throat as it went down, had to down our drinks just to swallow it. The kids meal came without the peas as ordered. It was just a very miserable experience to an otherwise beautiful ship. All of this before the summer holidays, god knows how they'll cope when it wasn't even high season!

Nice place to have food at the sunny marina, lots of parking spaces. Local charity shops and bakeries too.
