Been to Whitby many times and didn't know this spot existed. Great views over the harbour, lighthouses and out to sea. Peaceful spot to gather your thoughts.

Picturesque views across Whitby bay and out to the North Sea are exactly what you will get from this stunning scenic spot! Located beneath the iconic cliffs of Whitby’s “old side” and the famous church & abbey, the Haggerlythe is a rocky outcropping with great access due to recent infrastructure improvements. A short stroll up from the bustling streets of the marketplace, a few benches on this viewpoint provide a beautiful vista across the North Yorkshire coast surrounding this historic seaside town. Footpaths lead down from the Haggerlythe to the small beach below, and out on to the stone jetty. A small information plaque is located up by the benches, giving details of both the natural history and other points of note.

Nice spot Not a place you'd probably intentionally visit, but a nice place to check in whilst you wander down to one of the piers. It's a small area surrounded by fencing, and the fencing is covered in Love Locks. It's a nice little spot for views and something different

A great place to view the harbor from. Is a peaceful spot and a great place to get away from the crowds. A good place for photographs just after dawn or before sunset.
