A very last-minute decision to hop on a boat trip - but delighted that we did! 20-minute trip out to sea, with super-friendly and informative staff who talked about the area and the history of Whitby. Dog-friendly - all dogs and children under 5 travel free - just £5 for adults. Well worth doing if you're out and about!
I went on this trip with my 5-year-old son, my brother, and my dad, and it was a brilliant family day out. The skipper was fantastic—friendly, patient, and great with kids—which made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. We caught plenty of fish (mainly mackerel), and while I’d have loved a bit more variety, the excitement of reeling them in never faded. Watching my son catch his first fish was the real highlight and something I’ll never forget. The boat felt safe, the gear was simple to use, and the scenery was beautiful. Overall, it’s a perfect family-friendly activity, and we’ll definitely be back next year.
Myself, my children and our dog had an amazing wildlife boat trip, we we're lucky enough to see whales and lots of seals and the gentleman was very knowledgeable and very informative about the area and the wildlife we saw. It was by far one of the most memorable experiences on our trip to Whitby so far. The booking online was very simple and the cost I thought was very reasonable. Thankyou for having us onboard
Took the 20 minute boat tour on Esk Belle lll yesterday, without pre booking, just walked on to the jetty and paid £5. Great commentary from the skipper and the smoke from the Langdale Moor fires 🥹 made for very atmospheric pictures of the abbey. All staff were very friendly. Recommended
Me and my daughter went on the 10am trip on 29th of July. We went id guess 2 Miles out to sea maybe 3... 150ft of water depth. My daughter loved it 18 mackerel some really big ones also 6 or 7 whiting. I didn't fish as I had sea sickness 😫. Skipper and his deckhand really quick to sort snags and tangles out. I liked the skippers humour 😄.
