Google maps is slightly wrong. Although the bench is not original it was quite exciting to sit and admire the Abby and cliffs from there! A must for all Bram Stocker lovers.

The bench is the last one in a series of benches overlooking Whitby. It is a great scenic point both day & night. It's the viewpoint that inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula, so it must be great! You can see Whitby Abbey on the other side of the river. We also stayed in the B&B that is referenced in the book (just not the room as ours had a better view).

What a fine place to park one's bottom the view was captivating Though I won't lie I did not get inspired to think about a monster sucking on one's neck

The bench was not as exciting as what it sounded like it could be, but it was what it was, and you can get a good feeling of why Bram was inspired from the view - which was excellent.
