This is a fairly large sculpture (technically not a sculpture as it is a ruin turned into one?) and the plaque reads, "This ancient timber stock anchor was brought up in the nets of M/FV “Ocean Venture” of Whitby from an area off Maw Wyke on Nov. 19, 1901 and presented to the town by her skipper Mr. J. Hebdem and crew." It's placement in the town is picturesque and it's worth going over and seeing.
