This was our first port of call. we got lots of advice and they sorted out our car parking for us. There are some excellent local guidebooks on offer to help you decide how to pass your holiday. 😊
Very helpful staff. We bought the East and West Side Whitby Tourist Trail leaflets and had a very enjoyable day exploring and discovering the delights of Whitby. The information provided in the leaflets provided us with a historical perspective to our walk. Brilliant day, thanks.
Whitby is a lovely place to visit the historic Abbey , the Steps , the Beach , the boats, fish and chips, the Jet jewelry and super sized sea gulls … people were friendly …..quite hilly need to think through trip and plan if you have mobility issues parking ease of access to sites …
On arrival we were given a parking permit for Zone W and spent a minimum of 2 hours driving round and round, trying to find a space. Eventually found one, but had a very long walk with our bags to the hotel. Then, walking through the car park at the leisure centre, we discovered that they required £1 to use the toilet - absolutely outrageous. Within the town it is still 50p which I consider appalling. I always thought Whitby a great place to visit, but I feel it has become greedy, and I'm afraid I've fallen out of love with it now so won't be returning.
Good service centre with helpful staff. 24hour bus service for £6.50 for unlimited number of tours to all tourist attractions in Witby.
