Khanqah under the supervision of Hadhrat Shaykh Asif Hussain Farooqui (Daamat Barakatuhum), which also serves as a community mosque. Locally referred to as Masjid Umar, this gem of a masjid is tucked away from the main road which adds to its serene environment. There is onsite parking which is well maintained & accessible via Gondal Court itself. Additional pedestrian access is available at the top of Canterbury Avenue where it meets Little Horton Lane & also via South Street, just off of Southfield Lane (around the corner from Southfield Post Office). The masjid itself is clean & pleasantly decorated, with Qurans/books clearly & neatly displayed for easy access. An ittar shelf is located to the left, just as you enter the prayer hall which is a welcomed & useful feature. The masjid has good ablution & toilet facilities which are regularly cleaned and inspected. There is Zikr Majlis daily after Fajr & Isha prayers where everyone is welcome & is highly recommended to join InshaAllah. The masjid will comfortably hold a congregation of circa 400, Alhamdolillah. Mufti Mohammed Ashfaq is the lead Imam, and their ability to deliver talks of complex matters in simple & relatable terms adds to the spirituality of the masjid. Overall, a very peaceful & spiritually uplifting masjid, Alhamdolillah, which greatly benefits the local & wider population. May Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) reward all involved in its foundation, maintenance & support.
