Have been looking for a car for my daughter for months in preparation for her 17th birthday, went to look at a few and weren’t too impressed. Then we found a car at Smart Car Sales, we rang and spoke with Jay and drove over from Preston to check it out. The car was perfect, and the service from Jay to get the car ready was exceptional. Can’t recommend him enough, top man and would give more than a 5-star rating if I could.

Genuine buyer feedback. Bought a Citroen C3 for my son's 18th to learn with from Jas at Smart Car Sales UK plus additional 3 month warranty (from his advised provided) - Car cost £4000 (sons savings over years) It was a 2014 reg with 40k mileage. Within the first month the engine light came on. Took to local garage who put through diagnostics and advised cylinder misfire + replaced parts (£300). Warranty only paid out £140 which was about what it cost me to take out initially. Car was used minimal (2_3 times per week) while son was learning and short journeys. Once he'd passed and started doing more mileage, engine light kept coming on and went out with a bang on the motorway. Luckily no injuries to my son or other road users but dread to think what could have happened! Towed to local garage to be told engine was basically scrap metal! Without spending £1500 to take apart and attempt to fix without guaranteeing the problem or £3-4k for new engine and again not guaranteed. Phoned Jas to explain this is not what should be expected from a car owned less than 9 months and hardly used. He was less than interested and told me it's one of those things and to walk away out of pocket £4300. Sent a letter to the garage but no reply. My personal opinion would be to steer clear of this guy and his garage.

Bought a vehicle from this dealer, a very easy process. The car was as described at a competitive price. They seem to specialise in selling low mileage cars which have been well looked after by previous owners. Extremely happy with our purchase from Smart car sales.

After nightmarish 3 months scouring the internet for a decent Aygo/107/C1 for my daughter's first car, I had given up hope on finding one that had zero rot or been written off. By chance/luck/fate or whatever you wanna call it, I spotted this Aygo after taking my van for a wash (Smart Car Sales share the lot with a car wash place). After having a good look around the car, inside, outside, underside and having a chat with Jay who was very honest about the minor bad bits (it's a 16yr old car), I took it for a test drive then bought it. As I said, I've had a nightmare trying to find a decent first car for my daughter and that was mostly due to the sellers not being honest by either not disclosing information in the ad, or when asked over the phone directly and then me driving 2hrs just to find they had lied. Which I just walked away from as the trust is then gone. Jay was upfront and honest. He had all the issues written down no matter how minor, but it was decent of him to point out these issues before I even looked at it. He told me he only buys/sells decent low milage cars that haven't been written off, and that seems to be true from the 2 cars I looked at (the other was a 14 plate gen 2 Kia Picanto with 63k miles but was a little out of budget). I know a bit about cars with my dad being a retired mechanic of 40+ years and I also know what to look out for with these vehicles... I've been driving it for over 2 weeks now and no problems. I paid £2290 for this 09 Aygo with zero rot underneath, a clean MOT history, never written off or salvaged (quite rare with these), new discs, pads and shoes, 4 decent matching Goodyear all season tyres, only 54k genuine miles on the clock and full service history! Compared to the ones I've seen online and looked at in person over the last 3 months, this is a good price considering everything mentioned above. When handing over thousands of pounds to someone you don't know, transparency is high on my list. I found Jay to be very transparent and honest which seems to be a hard ask nowadays when buying a car! I would do business with Smart Car Sales UK again without hesitation.

I travelled from Conwy North Wales and kept in contact with Jay the day before to arrange pick up, this was just the start of a very good experience with Smart Car Sales. Once with Jay, he was very kind with his time in showing me a wonderful Toyota Yaris for my wife and both on the test drive and immaculate paperwork, I drove away a very happy customer. Thank you so much Jay for providing such an immaculate car and I can't wait for my wife to be as pleased as I am with this reliable runaround. Truly five star service.
