About The Little Hide

Description

Discover the perfect place to hide, just for grown ups’. Just off Clifton Moor, about 3.5 miles out of the centre of York in a rural setting.

With a bus stop at the end of the drive, the amazing City of York is only a few minutes away! However, for the more adventurous, there is easy access to the stunning Yorkshire Moors or Coast.

With no minimum night stays and a relaxed atmosphere this is total “grown-ups camping”! Our camping pods are unique – and they are the only luxury pod getaways in the York area. Each pod contains a zip and link bed, with crisp white bedding, a 2 seater sofa, coffee table and bedside table. Each pod has good lighting, inside and out, and a double electric socket – for true luxury while camping! There are also BBQ’s to borrow and fridges and freezers for you to use as well as an iron and other bits and pieces you may have forgotten!

Willow House Caravan Park and The Little Hide are both child free sites, making them perfect for a few quiet nights away, with some of Europe’s best restaurants and sights on the doorstep!

The Little Hide can facilitate couples, friends and groups of up to 16 people, as each of our “Hides” comes with a zip-and-link bed, allowing for a double or twin bed set-up.

We have two toilet and shower blocks on site – the main block is by the Willow House reception, with male, female and disabled access toilets and showers. There is also a smaller block of brand new wet-rooms and toilets, just around the corner from The Little Hide. On top of this, there is also a washer and tumble dryer over in the main block – just in case you decide to stay longer than planned!

There are 3 large ponds on site which are ideal for an evening meander. Why not sit with a glass of something chilled and just watch the Ducks and Kingfishers go by! Just off site is a very pleasant walk along a beck into Wigginton past the Millennium Wood – there is a lovely walk through the wood, allowing you to forget you are so close to the village and the City of York!

Each pod has its own BBQ area, and there is a dedicated washing up area on site too. There is electric in each pod as well as a water tap in close proximity.

Dogs are permitted on site, and we have 3 dog friendly pods. Each of the ‘dog pods’ has a place to fasten their leads to, so that they can be with you while you relax outdoors or BBQ!

Thank you so much, Tim! My aunty and I had a wonderful stay and will surely be back again next time we're in the area. Our room was brilliantly set up with big and comfy beds, a little bathroom and shower, and a handy kitchen that included sink/hotplates/fridge+freezer. Simple but clever and generous is how I would describe it - just what a getaway should be! Tim was lovely for a chat, local recommendations, and open to feedback. He's a hard worker and the results are obvious.

We had a lovely time at this gem of a glampsite. The pods were spotless clean and really insulated... toasty warm. The toilets were also clean and warm. I would recommend this as a romantic weekend away. Really close to the centre of York.

This is an amazing place. Placed a in lovely location just outside York. The Glamping pod we had was very clean and tidy, nicely presented. All facilities were great, easily accessible. I only graded the service low, as we never saw any staff members on arrival, or departure, but I received lots of clear communication via email to direct us during our stay. We would definitely visit this place again.

This was booked so we could visit the Christmas market. We stayed in the Yurt and it's definitely not like the pics on the site. The outside was very dirty and unkempt. The inside was very basic and spots of mold on the cloth ceiling which needed a good deep clean. The fire was nice and heated up quickly but was in a position so you couldn't see it, which was a shame. Also was unable to find the main light inside so used the lamp.only. Bed was very comfortable and clean, the pull out sofa has homes in it and the mattress has loads of splits in it. It just needs some love put back into it.. The front area has two sets of seats but unfortunately the lights on the outside of out Yurt didn't work. Having been a camping before this is definitely not glamping and not worth the price that is charged. I feel like the site was actually designed for the Caravans as their area was well maintained and the facilities you need are all on their side, like toilets, shower, washing up etc.. I really think this could be lovely but unfortunately it hasn't been well maintained and cared for. I have included a pic from their site of the Yurt and what it actually looks like. The shower facilities were very clean but as i said they were on the caravan site.

We stayed in a pod. See pics. Lovely glamping site. Very clean. Toilets /showers spotless. Nice heater in the room. Bring your own towels. Would definitely stay again. We wish we stayed longer than one night. Would be a great base for a few days in North Yorkshire Things to note. It's a drive to York (10-15mins). Parking is extortionate in the city (£21 a day) You can taxi/uber to and from the site for a lot less than parking. City centre hotels may not all offer free parking.
