Food was lovely. Not necessarily the best I've had but very good and reasonably priced. The service was OK though a bit rushed. Unfortunately the let down was the atmosphere. Especially when a party came and sat at the table to the side of us. Two kids, parents and grandad. One child was of the screen patented type. Phone turned up and whistling tunelessly every few minutes. Then grandad who'd his phone or to one up the child with facebook videos at full blast. Meanwhile, mum is taking like she can breathe through her ears, loud enough to be heard in the whole restaurant. On the rare time she stops long enough for dad to talk he swears like it's punctuation. Spoiled an otherwise lovely meal. As it was obvious they were regulars and friends of the manager, we won't be back.

The place was clean service was good, but the food was very over priced, and I found it pretty greasy, 3 mains 5 starters 2 rice 6 drinks (non alcoholic) £133, service is great but I wouldn't be going again.

Went for a meal from Hornsea. We all agreed, the best curry any of us have ever had. Absolutely incredible, amazing hospitality. The day time food is also brilliant. Well worth the drive. Thank you.

We’ve just received a delivery to our caravan site from the lovely Saffi and his colleagues at Bengal Lancer — on one of the busiest nights of the year, New Year’s Eve. Our food arrived exactly within the estimated time, and as always, it was excellent. We honestly can’t fault it. The starters were spot on, the fish masala was amazing, and the tikka bhuna was outstanding — one of our absolute favourites 👌🏻 We’ve been eating here for the past 10 years and have never had a bad experience. This is our local Indian restaurant and we would consider ourselves as regulars. Normally the food is of a very high standard and good portion sizes, we have only eaten inside the restaurant once and it was very good, however we generally get deliveries. Sadly the delivery service lacks consistency, in the past items have been missed (but rectified) and timescales can prove to be an issue, normally taking a good hour. Unfortunately this evening was the worst delivery we have ever had from here, having called and ordered at 1715 (yes 15 minutes before opening time) we were told delivery time between 1800 - 1830, at 1835 we called asking where it was and were told "its just leaving now, it'll be 10 minutes", at 1848 we called again and were told "ill call the driver" 2 minutes later we were told "the driver has had troubles finding your house, he's on his way". 1858 I was called by the driver asking for a postcode having only just set off. The food finally arrived at 1902.... 1 hour 45 minutes after ordering.
