We visited this Cooplands in Withernsea last week as other bakeries were closed. Normally, you can’t go wrong with Cooplands, we’ve never had a bad experience at any of their branches before. Unfortunately, this one was the exception. The food was almost inedible. The sandwiches were dry, and the butter only covered a small patch of the bun (barely a couple of inches). We even paid extra for mushroom and tomato, but what we received was no more than a teaspoon of each, really disappointing. To make it worse, even the cakes were dry and lacked flavour. We left feeling gutted, having wasted £20 on something we thought would be a safe choice.

Staff need a course in customer service i I was waiting in line and my turn came up but thel staff member who had just finished serving turned to check the ovens ...I would have acknowledged someone who had been waiting...and just have said I won't be a moment....another member of staff came into the shop from the back and washed her hands and could see people were waiting but started a casual chat with the other staff member with no acknowledgment to the customers . By this time 4 more people had joined the queue. The first staff member still had her back to the que ...so I said " excuse me You've got a que."..now I was not offensive loud or abusive. And the first member of staff said I was doing the ovens ..and she's new and washing her hands ....and I said yes and having a good chat at the same time...I wouldn't have said that if the first staff member had just said Be with you in a moment. She said I'm not serving you ...the young member of staff started to serve me and I was saying to the other member of staff I was only letting you know you had a que initially. I said I'm entitled to speak so long as I'm entitled to my opinion so long as I'm not shouting or offensive. She then said We are not serving youI asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the Manager. I said No you're not and she insisted she was she had a name badge but I won't identify her here. I said retail staff are abused but I was just letting you know you had a que . In a shop full of people she humiliated me over very little. She told the other member of staff not to serve me. She was smirking. I was not loud abusive racist I did not swear didn't throw anything or threaten anyone. I believe she wasn't the manager because she gave a slight look to the 3rd member of staff.
