This country Cottage is an ideal base for exploring the countless delights of North Yorkshire. It is situated in open countryside between the picturesque North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the Howardian Hills (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). Nunnington Hall and Rievaulx Terrace are National Trust properties located within a few miles of the cottage. Both the historic city of York and the East Coast, with its lovely beaches and traditional seaside towns, are within easy travelling distance. The pretty village of Harome is a mile away and Helmsley, a popular market town with impressive castle (English Herritage), traditional tearooms, country pubs, charming shops and open air swimming pool, is only 4 miles away.

Summerfield Farm is a small traditional family run working farm growing barley, wheat and potatoes. We also keep a flock of sheep and a small number of hens. At the last count by the RSPB there were 58 different species of birds. Guests are welcome to enjoy a stroll around the farm and to the pond and trout stream (River Riccal) situated on the farm. Free range eggs are available to buy during most months of the year.

The holiday cottage adjoins the farm house and is completely self-contained. It is comfortably furnished and equipped for five persons. On the ground floor there is a porch, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Upstairs comprises of a double bedroom, twin bedroom and shower room. All the beds are equipped with electric blankets and bed linen. Ample parking is provided on the concrete yard adjacent to the cottage.

The peaceful, sheltered garden, with garden furniture, is perfect to relax in during the summer months and in the winter the open log fire creates a lovely cosy cottage. Young and old alike enjoy holidays here year after year. A warm welcome awaits you.
