A lovely afternoon out with our bird mad son. There's a brilliant family hide suitable for the kids and loads of birds to keep an eye out for. There's a kids play area and a couple of wobbly bridges for an alternative fun route. Be aware, you have to pay to access the site or it's free if you're members of the RSPB. We'll be going back soon.

A New Way to Wander | RSPB Old Moor New on The Inclusive Edit 🌍💜 Our autumn visit to RSPB Old Moor turned into something really special. After a week of heavy rain I tried one of the free mobility scooters for the first time and it completely changed the way I experienced the reserve. I saw more, felt more grounded and could be fully present with my family. ✍️I have shared the full story on the blog, along with the beautiful accessibility work happening at Old Moor. A big thank you to the team at @rspb_old_moor for your help, and to @rspbengland for sharing their ethos on accessibility for the article. Read it through the link in my bio or stories.🫶 Please tag and repost for anyone who you think might enjoy an accessible RSPB experience x 🤍🦢🍂 Accessibility information can be found on the @rspb website and @accessableuk app (info in the article) #TheInclusiveEdit #AccessibleNature #RSPBOldMoor #AccessibilityMatters #NatureForAll #InclusiveOutdoors #AccessibleAdventures #AccessAble

A fabulous nature reserve just on the edge of Rotherham . There are two main habitats, reed beds and wetlands, with an excellent set of paths and hides linking them. The amenities and presentation are fabulous, with masses of stuff for kids to see and do. There is ample parking, a good cafe and shop and when we went there the place was thronged. The wetlands are very calm and tranquil though, and the reed beds very atmospheric. A excellent day out and well worth a visit.

This site is well set out, nice walks and lots of hides. The visitors centre is well set out cafe, toilets, shop and some staff were helpful others not so much. This is very much a 9 to 5 site it's a shame the wildlife doesn't realise that. My complaint is the parking shuts here at 5pm and the gates are locked which I find rediculous when this site has 5 other sites surrounding it that don't have parking you must use Old Moor parking and walk to them, but the parking limits at Old Moor don't give you enough time and if you are shut on you have to pay to be let out.

First time visiting today and thoroughly enjoyed my 4 hours strolling slowly around. Definitely be back again. Impressed with the whole reserve on a par with Minsmere. Great for children activities, lovely shop and cafe
