Really nice pub and friendly barstaff / customers. Would definitely go again
We were supposed to be at a wake in The Angel. But the landlady was not there, so the pub was closed. We decided to go to the Royal instead. They were great, especially at short notice when we all walked in. Great place to go for a drink and a lovely atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and efficient.
Went here Thursday night for jam night as it was a bank holiday it was very busy with a brilliant atmosphere and music was excellent as always. Well worth a visit especially Thursday nights if you like live music. Staff and customers very friendly.
Excellent venue and friendly staff the owner and his partner are great and make you feel welcome. Highly recommended for a visit and the quiz nights on Tuesday are good fun.
Beers ok. People alright, shame about the ex Stag folk piling in and being useless at drinking and their lack of personality. Some of them are quite literally just a cell or two away from licking the windows and chewing the chalk off the pool table... But the usual royal guys are great.
