Just been today for the first time and the staff were both lovely and so chatty and accommodating, the food itself was just lovely and really good portion sizes and price! Will definitely be going back and highly recommend
The first few times that we had fish and chips from Smiths was great. Things seem to have gone downhill since, the fish (haddock) that we have just had was tasteless and the chips had been sat in the hotbox for too long. Back on the hunt for the best chippy. At least the cats are happy.
Fish was tasteless and the chips were dry has if they had been on heat for a long time, chips were very bitty has well. Server was nice and polite but the chip shop needs to improve the food, unfotunately won't be going again for a long while.
The food was awesome. Best patties I've tasted even if they try to call it a fishcake. Will definitely be back. It's a really nice traditional fish and chip shop with great staff. I would highly recommend it. If you are in Woodhouse, then definitely pay this place a visit. You're certain of great food, good value, and a good old fashioned welcome.
The owner recommended the PROPER fishcakes and I was impressed. The batter was slightly soft but plenty of tasty fish inside. The chips never fail to disappoint! The staff are always really friendly aswell. My favourite local chippy. 9.5/10 for service and food rating! Oh and don’t forget to try the cheese squares.
