Great place to spend a couple of hours. Wasn't too busy when I was there. There was some parking on a nearby road, but not lots. Lots of interesting wildlife (Saw a Heron, and lots of ducks!)
No need to pay it’s free, lovely walk when it’s been nice weather. Good for dog walks jogs and a casual walk. I wouldn’t recommend if it’s been heavily raining unless you’re prepared to get a little moody. It is a Washlands after all.
My dogs love coming here. There is a river on one side with a steep bank. If you're dog likes to go in the water this is probably not suitable for you. A plus for this area is that its only a short walk to Rothervalley so plenty of options.
Great for an amble if you live local. Much wild life in spring & autumn. Part of the trans Pennine trail. If not local there is little to attract. great when frosty. A pleasant walk along the river Rother.
There is a circular walk which is approximately 3 miles. The washlands is a great place to spot some wildlife. There are areas which are protected and are not accessible due to ground nesting birds. The River Rother runs through the washlands. Parking is an issue as there is no designated carpark. You have to park on a busy arterial route at the Woodhouse side or next to s industrial estate on the Beighton side.
