I studied at HYMS over 10 years ago and am now a consultant psychiatrist. After you qualify as a doc, you realise how little differences there are between all med schools - (maybe with Oxbridge as an exception). They don't really explain it at the time but all med schools require you to work very hard and to be self-directed as both qualities are necessary to become competent doctors and have a career in medicine. best wishes
HYMS, does not support its students, complaints are impossible to make, 5 students have failed a assignment this year, who were all told it was virtually impossible to fail this is a non medicinal assignment, no guidance has been given to support them with the resubmission of this assignment if they fail this they fail the whole course no matter how well they do in the medicinal and clinical exams and role play, these students are training to be phsysian associates.
looking back I really enjoyed my time at this medical school, would definitely recommend it to others considering a career in medicine
