Cut & Chase has been packing in the crowds since opening its doors on Goodramgate, and it’s not hard to see why this trendy hotspot has gained a following as one of the fastest-rising names in York’s restaurant scene. Don’t let the industrial-chic interiors distract you from the menu at this kitchen and cocktail bar, which focuses on all-time British favourites with a modern twist.

Conveniently placed just minutes from York Minster on Goodramgate, they are open seven days a week. The menus change for each meal offering brunch until noon with choices such as a scrumptious Eggs Benedict and the almighty Full English. Lunch is served until 5pm and includes a great choice of sandwiches, salads, burgers and house favourites. The evening menu is served until 10pm at the weekend, with a mix of innovative dishes and comfortable favourites, all made from the very best local produce.

As you might have heard, the cocktails here are exceptionally drool-worthy too. Try some of the ingenious, perfectly prepared cocktails, from old school classics to new infusions and flavours. There is also a great selection of craft beers and a very impressive wine list. The bar stays open late until 1am on Friday and Saturday nights.

Given its central location in York, a stone’s throw away from the railway station, Cut & Chase is one stellar outfit no self-respecting foodie should ever miss. Reserve a table before you visit, however, as seats tend to fill up fast.
