We loved this café. We visited whilst visiting York for a few days but wished we had this place round the corner as I'd use it all the time! The decor, service and food were all 5 star. We had chocolate porridge and scrambled egg on sourdough. The scrambled egg was cooked to perfection and the porridge was great too. It's a shame they're a little out of the centre as so many people will miss experiencing it, but perhaps the locals prefer it that way - it's their little gem :-) I love the community feel and hope it continues to be successful in supporting people who deserve a second chance.
Outstanding service, the baristas gave me warm smiles in contrast to the snowy York weather and the quality was amazing. I had the spiced hot chocolate 85% probably the best hot chocolate I've had in my life and I sometimes did it on my own. I had a flat white after that was also good.
Local spot we’ve started loving on Friday mornings. I pop in with my two-year-old and the team are always kind and patient. Coffee’s bang on, scrambled eggs are spot-on, and the salad of the day has been great each time (fruit salad was a nice surprise). Clean baby-changing, a few toys to keep little ones busy, comfy sofas and plants/art give it a chilled vibe. Paid by card first visit and cash the next—no fuss—and I really rate the ‘pay it forward’ idea. Community-minded café in the Groves that looks after people as well as it makes coffee. See you next week!
The team were very friendly and helpful, such a nice place lace to go grab some lunch. Some of my group were delayed at work and the staff were very accommodating with this. I also have several food intolerances and the team were really helpful, and the food is delicious too. Will definitely be stopping by this pace more often.
Super friendly staff and absolutely delicious drinks and snacks. We stopped to warm up after a trip to the park with a group of 10 of us, and they were so accommodating. Some toys and books that the children could play with were a wonderful option. It's a really lovely cafe. Thanks
