My friend and I visited this lovely cafe recently and had a wonderful experience. The staff were so warm and welcoming, made us feel at home straight away. They have an amazing variety of fresh veggie and vegan foods on the menu, we opted for the chocolate fudge cake with warm chocolate sauce, Vegan apple spice cake, accompanied by a hot chocolate and fresh Rooibos tea, utterly delicious. I even managed to take way a box of the fresh Rooibos tea, which I was very pleased with, as it’s one of my favs. Highly recommend coming here, it’s a little gem of a place. We will definitely come again, when we next visit.
Can’t believe I’ve not been here before. Went last week and wow it’s my new favourite place! Best food I’ve had in ages. The mango tea was amazing. The food was delicious and the staff were all really friendly. I’ll definitely be back
Beyond the pale - outrageously expensive for what you get. We have been to Goji in the past for coffee and cakes - though not for a least a couple of years now. We went again on a recent visit to York for lunch (we are both vegetarian). The dish I originally requested wasn't available, so I ordered a tofu sandwich and an aubergine side salad. The tofu sandwich was quite small and whilst the filling was admittedly very tasty, the bread was just a cheap supermarket style part-baked Baguette; there was also a small pot of coleslaw (not in the picture as I gave that to my partner). The aubergine side salad consisted of just four small slices of aubergine with some yogurt and a few pomegranate seeds. Now here's the rub, the sandwich was £15 and the side salad £5 - so £20 in total which would buy a pretty decent main course in a restaurant even in York. My partner's meal was similarly expensive, again £15 for some pearl parley and an insubstantial quantity of vegetables. These dishes should have been half to two thirds the price at the most for what was served. The poor quality bread was unforgivable. Four hours later when I arrived home I had beans on toast because I was hungry! Given the above and that there are some excellent cafes in York I unfortunately can't recommend Goji
A real find if you love veggie/vegan food. A range of lovely hot breakfast and lunch options, fantastic coffee, tea and cake. Relaxed, casual place for coffee/lunch, over two floors. Friendly staff.
Well presented food with generous servings in a lovely atmosphere. Reasonably priced menu and good selection of food to choose from. An ideal spot for a break while doing the York Cat Trail
