Spent a slow afternoon last week at this gorgeous coffee spot tucked away in the heart of York. Every cup and plate feels crafted with care and real skill. The baristas here are proper professionals — experts at roasting and brewing, with a passion you can taste in every sip. What we ordered: ☕️Filter Coffee: notes of 🍓 strawberry, 🍇 raspberry & 🍍 pineapple. Fruity, vibrant, and beautifully clean in the cup. 🧉Asian Dolce Coffee: rich, creamy, and balanced. 🍵Lavender Matcha (Ceremonial Grade): hands down one of the BEST matchas in Yorkshire. Smooth, floral, and not the slightest bit bitter — just pure, earthy elegance. 🥐Berries & Nuts Croffle + Pistachio Croffle: Crisp with a mix of crunch and chew. 🧁Take-away Pistachio Cake: soft, nutty, and full of pistachio. I can't begin to describe how charming this café is and how lovely the staff are 🥹🌿 First of all, the matcha is incredible. Ceremonial grade, and so smooth. I had 1 matcha latte & the iced lavender matcha (which i later found out that the lavender was brewed from scratch - they support a local herb shop up the road in York that sells lavender 😭). I sat in the corner of this cafe with my journal admiring the surroundings. I loved the book wall, so decided to sketch it. This is a family owned café (husband & wife), and their little boy was running around being so adorable, cleaning tables with his parents & handing out sweets in his little pumpkin jar (in could weep he was so cute 😩💕). It just felt so homely & cosy. The staff are incredible, I didn't catch her name but the queen who served me was so kind! It's now my favourite café in York and I'll be coming back for sure! Very impressed! First time visiting Le Specialty Coffee and we didn’t know what to expect as we didn’t do much research before going in. The service is very polite and attentive, it took a little while for our food to arrive and the coffee did turn lukewarm whilst waiting for it but I would say it didn’t disappoint, we went for the bacon and maple syrup waffles and they were simply delicious. Very good portion as well and I left the place very satisfied. For coffee we both requested a flat white and it was almost perfect (could be just a little more hot). Overall a very good experience and we would definitely recommend!

Amazing coffee! I had a flat white and my wife a cappuccino, both 10/10. We also shared a sourdough bruschetta which, again, was great! Cannot recommend this place enough, extremely friendly staff and you can see the amount of effort they put into this place. Will be returning (probably tomorrow).

Such a cozy, homey atmosphere! I was amazed by the amount of flowers and little details in the interior. The coffee is fantastic — the filter especially blew me away — and the pastries are so fresh. But most of all, the people here are absolutely wonderful!
