If I could give this place 100 stars I would. As soon as I entered I felt so safe and seen. As a bisexual nonbinary person seeing all the flags and decorations made me so happy. The cafe was incredible. Again as soon as I went upstairs I saw cosy blankets on the seats IKEA sharks, the big board of afromatiins and the worker there was so kind. I wish we had this kind of place in Cambridge. Thank you so much over the rainbow cafe for making me feel so safe and seen. Your changing lives. ❤️❤️

An amazing little find in York. An LGBT+ cafe. The owner was amazing and discussed how she got involved and why she created it. The cakes and cupcakes were amazing as with the atmosphere. Also great to know the house rules, the story behind it all and even the small hairdressers to the side of it. Amazing feel and atmosphere. Prices weren't too bad. Definitely a place for LGBT+ to feel safe. Just a shame it feels hidden behind a bookshop but apart from that, lovely.

The most magical place to happen upon while exploring York! This is my new queer/neurodivergent haven. A safe space, with the ultimate vibes and delicious food and drink. I’ve never felt so immediately welcomed as my fullest self!! A must see when visiting York or exploring your home 💗

This is a tiny cafe above a bookshop. Both are queer spaces, full of flags, acceptance and super friendly staff. I can highly recommend the bi passionfruit cake. The cafe is a meeting place for young people who identify as LGBTQ+, so if you have an issue with them you're not at all welcome here. This cafe is absolutely perfect for students but, to reiterate, it is very small!

Really friendly staff and super cozy - the menu is a little on the light side and there is not much space at all to sit, so if you do go, there is a good chance you'll be seated with other people. If you dont mind that though, its a cute enough place with a really great book shop attached to it.
