Such a beautiful studio, filled with stunning and unique designs by local artisans as well as their own incredible creations. Every corner feels thoughtfully curated. The coffee was exceptional, you can really taste the care and quality in every cup. Zak, the owner, was so welcoming and passionate about what he does. An absolute must-visit in York, and I can’t wait to come back!
Did a pottery class with some friends for my birthday it was excellent. Such a beautiful little studio. Lydia and Zak were very accommodating allowing us bring in wine and pizza. Lydia was a great teacher and was very patient with the different abilities.. It was so fun to have a go in the wheel, we had a wheel of a time! And their dog is so cute. We will be back to try the coffee Zak!
Fab family Saturday night out! A group of us aged 17 to 56 spent the evening hand-building and trying out the wheel. Zak and Lydia gave excellent instruction and rescued our little wobbles so that everyone created something worth taking home. But the unexpected bonus was how much fun the process was - we all got completely engrossed. Such a treat to have the chance to experiment with clay.
We took a pottery class at Rock Garden Ceramics. It's a great independent company based on the outskirts of York. We had a great afternoon, the team were very welcoming and gave clear instructions, so suitable for beginners! Great fun! We made two items each and then chose a glaze. They are ready for collection within about a month, but ours were ready in just over a week. We couldn't resist buying a tumbler whilst there too! Would highly recommend, we've already recommended to friends!
Highly recommend! Me and my sisters and friend attended for a pottery throwing session and really enjoyed! Such a fun, relaxed atmosphere where Lydia let us get hands on with great tips and demonstrations. Bonus points also for the tea and croissants! We were so pleased with the results and would love to come back in the future to do some more. Also obsessed with all Rock Garden Ceramics and intend to slowly build up a collection!
