🐉✨ Shambles Market – York Visiting Shambles Market feels like stepping into another world. The vibe really reminds me of Diagon Alley from Harry Potter, mixed with an old Viking-era town. The area is full of beautiful, historic buildings, with narrow streets and charming old shops that make you feel like you’ve traveled back in time. There are many cute and unique stalls and shops, selling food, souvenirs, and handmade items. Walking through the narrow, picturesque alleys is an experience on its own. Every corner feels photogenic and full of history. From an accessibility point of view, Shambles Market is generally wheelchair accessible, but there are some things to note. Certain sections have cobblestone paths, which can feel bumpy and require extra care. The narrow alleys can also get crowded, especially during busy hours. Overall, Shambles Market is a magical place to explore and definitely worth visiting when you’re in York. ♿ Accessibility Checklist – Shambles Market ✅ Step-free access to the area ⚠️ Cobblestone surfaces in some sections ⚠️ Narrow alleys and tight spaces ♿ Mostly flat paths ⚠️ Can be crowded during peak hours 📝 Note Wheelchair users may want to visit early in the morning when it’s less crowded. Cobblestone paths can be bumpy, so assistance may be helpful in some areas. #GoogleLocalGuide #WalkAndSee #WheelchairAccessible #AccessibleTravel #York #ShamblesMarket

Lots of quaint shops with a great choice of goods at varying prices, some accessible some not. The Christmas markets were on when we visited, so was very busy. A really special place to visit and all the staff throughout the shops were friendly and helpful, joining in on the festive experience. Would definitely recommend any time of the year and will definitely go again.
Despite the pics, very crowded, even for a rainy day. Had an amazing witches walking tour, very informative, for to see parts of the city I wouldn't have known to look for. All-in had a great time
Good local shops on a variety of items, loved the various mulled wine kisoks in various parts of the market, it was crowded in the weekend, weekdays would be better to enjoy the overall stalls, live music in different parts well, must visit if you in town, allow for 4hrs
