Good selection of flavours not too overly priced, only thing I would say is that they don’t wear gloves or use tissue when handling the cones, the worker literally was doing up her hair whilst taking my order then proceeded with grabbing the cone with her bare hands and serving it to us.

Visited as a family, some of us with dietary requirements, and Loopy Scoops didn’t disappoint. Two of us needed vegan options – one had the vegan vanilla ice cream and the other chose a sorbet – while the rest enjoyed a range of dairy ice creams. Everyone, kids and adults alike, loved what they had. The lady who served us was absolutely wonderful – friendly, polite, and couldn’t have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, and she made us feel genuinely welcome. It’s rare to come across service that good. A fantastic little spot right in the heart of York – great ice cream, lovely atmosphere, and something for everyone. We’ll definitely be back!

Never left a review so quick but damn, that was probably the best strawberry milkshakes I've had. Well done.

I was in need of a bit of a palate cleanse (I’d been around lots of York’s eateries throughout the day!) and so popped in here for a cheeky scoop of mango sorbet before it closed. Lush!

I’ve been to this ice cream shop before and had a lovely experience, which is why I came back specifically for a flavour I had really enjoyed last time. However, this visit on 13 July 2025 was completely different. My sister had bought an ice cream from another shop nearby, and she didn’t like it, so I thought I’d get her another one from here. She was still holding the other ice cream when we approached the counter, and the lady serving us gave a rather odd look straight away - which already felt a bit judgmental. I bought one ice cream, and while she was serving it, I politely asked if I could buy some sprinkles separately to help improve the other one. I was very clear I was happy to pay for it. She responded saying no she wont be able to put it on that one as I said yes I know but is there any way you could put it in a tub or a spoon I can put it on myself. She then replied with something along the lines of “yeah, I would charge you though,” and then said, “that’s very cheeky though!” She was certainly not a young lady maybe in her late 40’s or 50. I honestly found that so rude and unnecessary. How is it cheeky if I’m paying for it? It wasn’t like I was asking for free extras or trying to be sneaky. I had just bought an ice cream from her shop and simply wanted to buy a small topping on the side. Her tone and comment made me feel really uncomfortable, as if I was trying to do something wrong. It’s disappointing because I had genuinely liked this shop before. But after this experience, I’ll think twice before coming back. The woman who served me was not friendly, and instead of offering a bit of kindness or understanding, she chose to be patronising. Really sad. I should have also asked for a sample before buying as it tasted really bad - my fault.
