Ainsty Ales

Ainsty Ales Limited was founded by Andy Herrington on the 6th September 2013. Andy was raised and still lives in the original Ainsty area of York. He is in every sense of the word, an extremely proud Yorkshire man!

Ainsty Ales is named after and will be located in the old York & District Ainsty area. This was and still is a farming and trading area dating back to the early 1800’s. The York & District Ainsty is located to the west of York bounded by three rivers; the Nidd to the north, the Ouse to the southeast and the Wharfe to the southwest.

Ainsty Ales will start its life as a locally run eight-barrel Microbrewery situated in the Ainsty area. Excellent tasting beers and hard work will establish excellent local relationships.

After establishing itself as an excellent local microbrewery in the Yorkshire area, Ainsty Ales would hope to expand and move premises nearer to the centre of York. A visitor centre, café and brewery tours could all be accommodated.

Looking further into the future it is the intention of Ainsty Ales to purchase a free house or preferably a brew-house in the York area.
