Damastique

Enjoyed a quick lunch here before setting off from York. We had the shawarma wrap and plate which were delicious, especially with the garlic and chilli sauces. To start we had the hummus and moussaka which had incredible flavours. The staff were very friendly and helpful, would definitely visit again.

It's a nicely themed restaurant with friendly staff that made us feel welcome and relaxed. Personally, I would have preferred Sirian music to compliment the interior and food, rather than the Christmas music (2nd December). The bread and starters were excellent, some of the best I've had in quite a while. We also enjoyed the complimentary lentil soup, which was nice touch of hospitality. The main course was a little underwhelming, with the falafel roll lacking something to make it special or distinct. The chicken skewer (not pictured) was, I'm told, excellent. We'll happily return at some point to try it again.

I was really hungry and decided to order the Arabic shawarma and lentil soup, both were absolutely delicious! The flavors were spot-on, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. This isn’t my first time ordering from them, and once again, they didn’t disappoint. ❤️

First of all, the Arabian hospitality in this place is well shown. I just had dinner here, and everything I ordered was delicious. The shawarma fetta was authentically delicious! The lamb kebbah as well! However, the yalangi needed to be cooked longer so that the rice in the stuffing would be fully cooked. Overall, I would definitely recommend it to everyone!

We had a wonderful experience at Damastique. The warm welcome and genuinely friendly staff made us feel at home straight away. The complimentary soup starter was a lovely touch, and the food was absolutely delicious and authentically Syrian. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, making the whole experience one that truly stays with you. Highly recommended!
