The show-stopper of the whole meal for me was definitely the Gamberoni - I was really taken aback by the flavours and the lovely paired wine - Primitivo from Puglia! Next, tried the Lobster Ravioli, the sauce of which was really creamy and lovely, with some chunky tomatoes and lemon, and yet again, their juicy king prawns and perfectly cooked ravioli. The lobster was not there for me - which should have been the highlight of the dish, but everything else was good. This was followed by Giardino Pizza and King Prawn Salad. If you have read till here, you will have realised by now how I love prawns! The salad was really well dressed and crunchy. The pizza's base was so well cooked and had that nice, warm, rich bread smell which was 'oh so good'! Finally for desserts, had their 10 Year Old Tawny Port - which was absolutely fabulous and their really soft, moist Tiramisu. If I had to visit again, would definitely go for the Gamberoni and the two wine, without a doubt!
Came here as it was part of the restaurant week in York. Arrived at 6pm to a busy and buzzing restaurant Service was very good, not just one staff but several came to see how we were getting on! Aricini starter nice Fried brie... Very very tasty! The ooze of the cheese when you cut into it was great, and the chutney completed the richness Risotto, cooked al dente, plenty of seafood and a great kick from the chilli Seafood linguine again plenty of seafood and great tasting sauce Main could've done with being hotter. Lemon mousse... Wasn't what we expected... Was hoping for a light fluffy mousse served in a bowl, but a cake type lemon dessert came out... It was very light and flavoursome sweet and a little sharp. Apple and apricot pastry... Little disappointed . Pastry was soggy and didn't have anything special in terms of taste or texture Overall very happy with the service and the price paid for the food served Restaurant week 3 course for £20, plus supplement for seafood, 2 drinks, service charge AND a extra tip because they deserved it... £66!!! Bargain!!!!
Had these booked for a couple of months for our trip to York and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Had a great welcome as soon as we arrived, staff were so friendly. Restaurant is situated on 3 floors and we were sat ground floor and the atmosphere of this place was so lovely and authentic. Food and drink was outstanding. Would definitely return
Booked this wonderful Italian in the morning as I fancied some lovely Italian food for my birthday dinner. This restaurant did not disappoint. Food was cooked to perfection and had a lovely wine selection. The lasagne was to die for. I can see why this place is popular! We went with a four year old and they had a great kids menu. Our server Annabel was friendly, attentive and made our meal even better by surprising me for my birthday with a candle on my dessert. In true birthday style, the servers even sang happy birthday to me - such a fun touch! Great fast service and excellent food. I highly recommend!
The best pizza i ever had!! The restaurant also clean and the staff are very friendly. Definitely will come back again to try others menu
