As I entered I was greeted by a kind and energetic who was the chef. He allowed me to sit at any table with two chairs. The menu has many but simple compared to most places. I am thankful to see Italian dishes on the menu even on the set menu of which I selected to order from. The set menu comes with a drink, I went with Red Wine. I ordered the most amazing Bruschetta (Bruce-Sketa, no Broosh-Sheta) with tomatoes and black olives, with extra virgin olive oil infused together. The bread was wonderful done, so much it crumbled on my plate. Next was the incredible Carbonara, done with eggs, pecorino cheese, generous black pepper, Guanciale and Pasta Water (No cream added!) and it was sensational, the sauce was creamy, cheesy and peppery especially when the Chef helped mixed it up being a proper Carbonara and helped melt the cheese which also helps bring everything together. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The Chef was energetic, friendly, good humour but someone you can clearly tell who loves what he does and respects the food. Inside the restaurant has nice Italian decorations to give you a sense you're in Italy. Even the TV has Italian programs. The pricing is very fair for what you're getting. There is a mandatory additional payment. Was a surprise but for what I had, deserved the payment. Highly recommend you go, if you're a student they do have some Student offers. Be sure to ask before you order!

First time in this lovely Sicilian restaurant in York, and it won't be my last. What a lovely intimate atmosphere as soon as you step inside. The customer service is second to none as soon as you enter the restaurant. Staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable, making you feel at ease throughout the experience. The food is absolutely gorgeous, with an array of flavours that complement each other. Great portion sizes, you go out feeling full and satisfied. A great overall culinary experience. Please note that it's cash only for payment. There's also a cheaper special student menu available

Small restaurant but good vibe likes local style. Authentic Italian homemade , delicious but a bit annoyed about cash only or direct transfer to bank account cos we travelled as cashless and also no wifi in the restaurant and bad signal internet in york city centre so we cannot transfer as well while we need to pay for 10% service charge . I knew its not a big deal for 10% to pay but it would be great if you have wifi for customer as well.

FIRST CLASS, AUTHENTIC TRATTORIA. The staff are warm, entertaining and genuine who all laugh along with each other. They were the most wonderful hosts. To boot, the food was excellent - probably the best tonnarelli cacio e pepe I’ve found outside of Italy. The wine was brought to the table and topped up liberally: what else can I say? The atmosphere was super and their Vecchia Romagna (served warm) was a real treat served properly. Highly recommended and cannot praise them enough. Cash only.

Gem of a find!!!! Gorgeous food and lovely staff. We had booked as read it was a very small restaurant, pleased we did as sooo busy. The staff were so attentive and lovely, keep laughing at how at first we were trying to find place when we heard a voice shouting...ladies are you lost, to see a man carrying chairs who directed us to restaurant saying this was our seats 🤣 food was absolutely gorgeous and very reasonable, will definitely be back next time in York, thank you
