We were really excited to order Slap and Pickle for delivery as we had heard good things in the past. Sadly, we did not have a good experience. My baconator burger was completely overcooked and dry and had barely any cheese or sauce on it. Instead, it was overflowing with lettuce. My boyfriend’s cheesus burger was also overcooked and contained very little cheese which was disappointing considering the cheese was the makn selling point. Out of the three sides of chips we ordered two were fine but the third was absolutely soggy and cold, they had definitely been left out. Really disappointed as it wasn’t cheap either and we were looking forward to a nice takeaway meal.
BBQ burger was really nice, I had dirty fries with mine, very limited choices if you have a gluten intolerance like my partner has, would go back again thought it didn’t put us off, large selection of beers staff were great place was nice and clean as were the toilets, wheelchair access to some parts.
Ordered delivery. Vegan burger was good I like the cook on the patty and good BBQ flavour but the onion rings were not crispy/hadn't been cooked properly so the onion was crunchy and I couldn't eat them. Maybe should served separate on deliveries to keep them from going soggy
Not thrilled :/ TASTE: Honestly with pickle in the name i was expecting nice thick dill pickle slices, they were dull and razor thin. Just a shame tbh we were super hungry and it was just wetherspoons level in taste which would be fine if the price reflected it. Burgers were rather small and flavourless. Peri peri chips were nice and onion rings were clearly frozen. OPTIONS: Every burger was able to get veganized so thats amazing. ATMOSPHERE: cute nice pub/bar appearance, pop music playing. But staff looked FED UP, overworked and not in the mood, slower service.
Ordered on Deliveroo, so can’t comment on service and atmosphere. However, our burger meal deal turned up with soggy bread (after only taking 3 minutes of delivery time), overly salted chips, cold cheese on the chips, and almost raw burgers (which isn’t as visible on the photo). I’m very disappointed since we walk past this food place often, and have wanted to order or visit for a while. The prices, which should’ve been over £30 for two burgers and fries, were ridiculous for the quality of the food. Overall, I’m concerned I will develop food poisoning due to the raw ground beef from the burger, and won’t be ordering again. Hopefully this is a fluke, but we aren’t willing to try for the price.
