The marinate of the flat iron is really good. I enjoyed the taste of all dishes. But still a little bit of membrane making it hard to chew at some point. And a little bit more than medium rare in my opinion. Overall it’s still a very good place.
Had a lovely 3 roast sharing Sunday dinner, it came with a large selection of veg and we paid extra for the creamy mash but didn’t need it. If you have a big appetite it’s perfect otherwise I’d choose one meat and save £6/7 each. Plenty of seating but it did get really busy, definitely a good idea to book in advance. 😊😋
Went for a sunday lunch, not eaten here before, seen reviews of the Sunday sharing boards so thought we would try and were not disappointed. Board was huge really large cuts of meat and veggies, well cooked, all the sides were tasty, made the mistake of ordering extra sides but didn't need them.. Food was excellent, service a little slow to start but then picked up. We weren't disappointed, will be back when next in York.
We had the chateaubriand board between the two of us with 4 sides, it was a really nice cut of meat and all the sides were tasty. The beef dripping chips are really good! Jess our waitress was attentive and really friendly. Whenever we finished a drink we were immediately asked if we'd like anything else. Its nice to see a restaurant with lots of friendly and attentive staff!
We visited here after checking other reviews, we were not disappointed. The service and decor are fabulous and the food especially the steaks are up there with the best I have had in any country (check my other reviews I have lots of experience). I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely revisit the next time I am in York 10 out of 10 ❤️
