We did enjoy our day in York. Didn't want to sit in a restaurant, so we decided to check out the Shambles Market. Several food stalls there, selling all kinds of meals. This one here caught our attention. Mostly fish and seafood on the menu here. Just what we needed that day. Ordered the fried calamari rings and the fried shrimp. Both were made to order. Came out hot, fresh and crispy. Good sized portion. The shrimp and calamari tasted very fresh, nicely cooked and tender. Really nice batter with some good seasoning and sauces. Really not your frozen kind of product you'll find at the shops. Really tasty stuff - we were pleasantly suprised by the quality and taste. Surely a great place to grab a bite.
Absolutely brilliant service. Very fresh and cooked to order. We had fish and chips. They fry in rapeseed oil. Will try other dishes next time. Highly recommended.
This place is definitely one of the good choices in York. The fish was both crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside — perfectly cooked. You can really taste the natural sweetness of the fish, and it feels fresh with every bite. A satisfying and enjoyable meal overall.
I ordered a fish burger and a side of chips and my daughter had the kids fish and chips the total was £20.50 and I will say hands down this is the best £20 I’ve ever spent on food the fish burger was amazing,I’m from Hull but I will definitely be driving up again
This is my go to lunch on the days I work in York city centre (which is usually once a week). It’s quick, convenient and always of high quality when I visit. Millers can be quite a busy place at times but you never seem to be waiting more than 10 minutes, I think that is very good for food that is cooked to order! I usually go for the fish bites with lemon pepper seasoning or sometimes plain and add salt & vinegar. I always order a portion of their signature fries which are thin and crispy with skin on, rather than the usual thick chippy chip. They seem to focus on homemade dips rather than lots of hot sauces. So far I've had the sriracha mayo, garlic aioli, tartar and curry. In general the shambles food court is full of great places to eat and Millers is always up there at the top for me and my friends.
