This was the best Yorkshire pudding wrap I’ve had so far. The meat and sauce were not salty at all, the meat was very tender, and the mix of vegetables went perfectly with the cranberry sauce. The Yorkshire pudding itself was genuinely delicious. I went later in the evening, so there was no queue and I could order straight away!
This restaurant is about as Yorkshire as Mc Donald's in fact this food is a insult to anything Yorkshire the food is tastles boring without any true understanding of what is good proper Yorkshire food This establishment offers a culinary experience that falls demonstrably short of authentic regional standards. The flavors presented are notably bland and lack the distinctive character one expects. It is rather disappointing when a locale's culinary heritage is not adequately represented. This particular offering feels like a disservice to the very essence of the region's food traditions. I regret to say it fails to capture the authentic spirit of the local cuisine.
We visited The York Roast & Co. and it was definitely worth the wait. The place was busy, and we stood in line for a bit, but we finally got to try their famous wrap — and it was absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared.
We saw this place the day before and had to give it a go. The food was excellent, although I do have to say the wooden knives and forks are not conducive to a positive experience. Can understand it for those taking away but those eating in really need metal. Cannot fault the taste. Excellent. The meat was sensational. The staff were polite and very respectful. However we could observe quite clearly that they are being overworked. One said that this was their 5th shift out of 8 in a row and had already clocked over 48 hours. This in no way impacted their service or how they served us as customers. I would much rather live in the knowledge that the establishment appreciates how hard these guys are working and pay them accordingly, and maybe give them a break once in a while. If not my opinion of this place would very quickly change.
It's a small place but pork roast and pork sandwiches were juicy. Crackling was crunchy. A bit priced but then you are in York. A little stingy with the pork slices. Have paid less and gotten more in other places. Seating is limited unless you grab and go or wait till someone leaves
