This was a lovely café, albeit a bit small, but I think that adds to its charm The service was great and the food reasonably placed , I had the English breakfast but they don’t do fried or poached eggs on scrambled eggs 🥚 I wasn’t bothered about that. The meal was lovely. A nice place to stop for a lovely breakfast in Magical York My favourite city 🏙️
So sorry, but the flat white and cappuccino we had were very disappointing. Very weak, with an unpleasant flavour. Asked for a fresh brew with a double shot, and was equally disappointing. The sign in the window claiming Best Coffee Shop winner 2025, is deceiving. I've tried loads of coffee shops in York, and sadly, this one falls very short. Would not return. ☹️
Amazing hidden gem. My ploughman's was amazing and around me the food was home cooked and looked delicious, staff were friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return next time we're in York. Recommend 5 🌟
It looks pretty. There's plenty of cake. A good selection of hot drinks. The breakfast butties are horrendous. Scrambled egg done in the microwave. Cheap sausages but good bacon. All served on white sliced cardboard. The turnover is really quick and the seating is cramped and petite. Service is efficient and well mannered.
Just a hot drink this time - hot chocolate and a coffee. Lovely location, friendly staff. Handy for the centre of York and it had a good menu. I would go again for lunch if ever I'm back in York.
