Lovely oasis of calm on the Shambles after some pre-Xmas shopping. The staff were lovely and attentive. I ordered some sencha which came in an Yixing teapot and got to pour the tea over the little clay frog, which was a very unique experience. There was also a nice selection of bakes like fresh scones, tiffins and blondies.
What a lovely little tea shop. We tried a sample of teas outside and decided to purchase one of them, it was delicious. Once entering the shop they're shelves upon shelve of delicious teas. The staff are very knowledgeable on the ingredients and best way to brew your tea. Getting the most health benefits and taste out of it. Back home now, still enjoying my little bit of York, with my tea :)
We've been twice now and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. The lovely man who served us was extremely knowledgeable about the teas and gave us excellent recommendations. The selection of teas is beyond anything you can imagine. The food served is either freshly cooked on site or locally sourced. Lovely calm ambience. Friendly staff. Gluten free scones or cake. Highly recommend. Can't wait to return again!
Visited this amazing shop today and can totally recommend. It’s got such an amazing choice of teas from all over the world to suit every taste. Lovely building and great service. Definitely worth visiting when in York. Thank you Martin and Sue Reeve
A must visit if you’re in York…and like tea! I’d previously visited the shop next door and loved their vast selection of teas. If you purchase anything in the shop you get a 10% off voucher for the cafe next door! We were greeted by a very friendly lady who gave us some time to pick our teas and then gave us instructions on how to brew our tea. The blueberry muffin tea was very tasty! A lovely cosy cafe on the shambles. We were so taken with the lovely mugs that we went and bought two from the shop next door!
