Contentious Probate Paralegal
<p><br /><strong><em>Role: Contentious Probate Paralegal<br />Location: York, North Yorkshire<br />Salary: £26,000 - £30,000<br />Contract: Full time, permanent </em></strong><br /><br />A highly respected and long-established Yorkshire law firm is seeking a Contentious Probate Paralegal to join its growing Dispute Resolution team in York. <br />This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious paralegal with litigation or private client experience to develop a specialist career within the increasingly busy and rewarding field of contentious probate. <br />Working alongside experienced solicitors who specialise in inheritance and estate disputes, you will assist on a broad range of matters including:</p> <ul> <li>Inheritance Act claims</li><li>Will validity disputes</li><li>Executor and trustee disputes</li><li>Claims involving undue influence, lack of capacity and lack of knowledge and approval</li><li>Estate administration disputes</li><li>Proprietary estoppel and trust-related claims</li></ul> <strong>The Role</strong> <p><br />You will play a key role in supporting fee earners throughout the lifecycle of contentious probate matters, including:</p> <ul> <li>Managing and progressing case files</li><li>Drafting correspondence, witness statements and court documents</li><li>Conducting legal research</li><li>Liaising with clients, counsel, experts and third parties</li><li>Preparing bundles and supporting mediation and court proceedings</li><li>Assisting with disclosure exercises and evidence gathering</li><li>Maintaining case management systems and ensuring compliance with procedural deadlines</li></ul> <strong>About You</strong> <p><br />Applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or Fee Earner</li><li>Experience within litigation, contentious probate, private client or dispute resolution work</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail</li><li>A proactive and client-focused approach</li><li>The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment</li></ul> <p><br />Candidates with a law degree, LPC, SQE studies or equivalent legal qualifications are encouraged to apply, although practical experience will be considered equally.</p> <strong>The Opportunity</strong> <p><br />This role offers the chance to join a supportive and collaborative team within a well-established regional practice that is recognised for delivering high-quality legal advice to private clients across Yorkshire. <br />The successful candidate will benefit from:</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to high-quality contentious probate work</li><li>Ongoing training and professional development</li><li>Clear progression opportunities</li><li>A supportive and inclusive working environment</li><li>Competitive salary and benefits package</li></ul> <strong>Apply</strong> <p><br />For a confidential discussion about this opportunity, or to submit your application, please contact: <br /><strong>Lauren Hopkinson</strong><br />CRA Consulting<br />Email: </p>
