Q-Park Barbican

Simple website to pre-book parking. Car registration was recognised and entry was simple. The problem is that when you try to leave the carpark is that there are no instructions as to where the QR code reader is situated, resulting in a queue forming whilst you try to work out where the reader is. Stick a label on the machine to point the reader out. Otherwise, have a numberplate reader on the exit so that customers who have prepaid can leave without the fuss.

Nice secure car park, is incredibly costly though, we was 3 minutes over the hour and had to pay an extra £6! What is worse that we was were in a queue for the only 1 exit that they have. Had that not been there, would’ve saved £6!

We use this when visiting York for a couple of hours, works out better value than the park and ride. Only ever visited during the day, there have always been ample spaces. The payment machines can be temperamental and the pedestrian entrance isn't always securely locked. Shame there's no toilets on site.

If you've pre-booked here DO NOT enter before your allocated time. I bought overnight parking here 1300hrs-1300hrs. Entered at 1244hrs and left at 1114hrs the following day. Note not the full 24hrs I paid £25 for. These shysters took an extra £3.50 from my bank account for entering 16 minutes early. No consideration for the 1hr 45 mmutes I didn't use at the end of the parking event. Customer services not interested when I politely emailed them, simply said foxtrot oscar. Last time in qpark or any connected business.

Pre paid parking online. Really easy when we arrived, barrier recognised number plate and opened straight away. Same on exit. Noticed that when we were leaving there was around 20 people queuing to use pay machine . This was after a concert at the Barbican.
